One is "Sheltie in Danger".
One day at the morning, Sally came over on Minnow and then Emma rode on Sheltie. two girls rode over to Mr. Brown's meadow to see if Horseshoe Pond had frozen over completely. Sally want to skate but Emma had never been ice-skating before. Therefore, Sally teach Emma to skate. The two girls continued skating until it was time to go home for their lunch. Emma helped Mum to clear away the plants after lunch and wash and dry the dishes. Then she decided to ride Sheltie back over to Horseshoe Pond. Emma wanted to practice her skating again. Then a terrible thing happened. The ice wasn't as thick as Emma had thought. Emma fell through into the freezing water beneath. The water was ice cold. Emma cried to Sheltie. Sheltie saw Emma disappear through the hole in the ice he raced to her rescue. Emma grabbed Sheltie's mane and managed to scramble up on to the ice. She was safety out of the freezing water but Sheltie's feet were stuck. Sheltie was only a small pony and very heavy. Emma ran as fast as she could back to the cottage. And then, Mum made the phony call to Mr. Brown to help Sheltie. Then one fireman fitted a sling around Sheltie's tummy, then hooked the sling to the cable overhead. He was standing safely on dry land. Sheltie was on poor health. Mr. Thorne, the vet, examined Sheltie's temperature and he injected into Sheltie. However, Sheltie did not recover and looks worse than ever. Emma filled with Sheltie. She took care of Sheltie at night. Then Emma blinked the sleep from her eyes, Sheltie was standing up on his feet. There was a lot to do with all the loving care and attention that Emma had been giving Sheltie.
The other is "Sheltie to the Rescue".
Emma's family went to the cottage which sat high on the cliff-top, with fields and meadows all around. When Emma went to the sea with Sheltie, she saw Alice Parker. Alice went to the same school as Emma. She was a show-off, and was always teasing Emma about Sheltie. She had a pony too. The pony's name is Silver Lad who is handsome white pony. And then, when Emma and Sheltie went back to cottage, Sheltie stumbled. At the time, they met Mary. She looked funny, but she was very kind. She cared for all kinds of sick and injured animals. When she looked at Sheltie, she thought " He's got a stone caught under his shoe". Then, she helped him. One day, Emma and Sheltie on the way to meet Mary, they saw Alice and Silver were on the narrow cliff path. Alice and Silver could not move because they felt too scary. However, Sheltie tried to help them. He is really brave. When he arrived at them, Alice grabbed his tail and she pulled a Silver's reins. Because of Sheltie, Alice and Silver were safety. Next day, Emma's family have to go back to home. When emma arrived at home, she wrote a letter to Mary. Mary responded pretty soon. Include the envelope, there is a news paper. 'DARING CLIFF-TOP RESCUE' was the heading or the page. It's about Emma and Sheltie. After that, another package reached Mary. That's from Alice. Alice wrote nice letter to Emma. Now, emma and Alice are good friends.
It is easy to read because there is a few characters. Therefore, even if this book has too much pages, you can read smoothly.
